| Reason for the maintenance To carry out integrated systems testing (IST) is to ensure that emergency power generation plant operates to support the sites electrical load. This is carried out by isolating the site electrical intake supply. at Milton Keynes. The IST will also cover testing for the event of failure of duty plant and call to operation of secondary/standby equipment and correct operation. Site mains supply to be isolated and UPS and generators to support site loads during this period. The UPS=92s will support the site critical loads until the generator supports all the site loads. For the duration of a site IST, specialist contractors for generators, UPS systems (both AC and DC) and cooling plant (if required) are to be arranged to be in attendance for testing. During the test, we will monitor how the backup system performs, in a controlled manner, to ensure that emergency power generation plant operates to support the site electrical load as intended, in a real power cut situation.
